Dr. Donald W. Schaffner is Extension Specialist in Food Science and Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University. He has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and educated thousands of Food Industry professionals through numerous short courses and workshops in the United States dozens of countries around the world. Dr. Schaffner was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists in 2010 and a Fellow the American Academy of Microbiology in 2013. He has served as an Editor for the American Society for Microbiology journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology from 2005 to 2015. Dr. Schaffner was the president of the International Association for Food Protection in 2013-2014.
