Ursula A. Gonzales-Barron

Ursula Gonzales-Barron, a Peruvian-Irish national, graduated with first-class honours in the Faculty of Food Industries at the National Agricultural University La Molina, Peru (1999). She later pursued PhD studies at the Biosystems Engineering De­partment of University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, where she became a Senior Researcher until 2012. In 2013, she became an Investigator Fellow, granted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, at the Polytechnic Institute of Braganza (IPB), Portugal. Her expertise resides in predictive microbiology, meta-analysis, risk assessment and microbial sampling plans. She has published circa. 50 peer-reviewed articles, and currently acts as Associate Editor in LWT-Food Science and Technology.
